Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency expresses the ability to use the energy in the best way, by acting primarily on end-use represented by industry, transport, agriculture and housing. Energy efficiency target is to consume energy better.
In terms of buildings, energy efficient ones are designed and manufactured according to two principles: no wasted energy, maximum utilization and optimization of renewable energy resources.
What a little different is energy saving, whose objective is to consume less. Of course, if you make efficiency you also consumed less, and here is the link - very thin - between the concepts of energy efficiency and energy saving.
Energy saving is for example the summer time system that allows us not to waste millions of kWh. Savings are also turning off lights when not needed and heating water with solar panels and heat pumps instead of the electric water heaters (not shine for energy efficiency).

Returning to the buildings, through the energy certification you can understand how they were based material in terms of insulation and heating and cooling systems, lighting and hot water; that is, one can understand how the building can help save energy.
Energy certification is the basis of the classification efficiency of buildings (A, B, C, D, E, F, G) improved through technical and economic study of possible interventions, that is, through an energy audit (which may consist of a pre-audit or an advanced audit). The energy classification, with a similar criterion, also exists for appliances.
And speaking of buildings, possible interventions for improving energy efficiency are for example: interventions on the building, the installation of a photovoltaic system, the installation of a cogeneration plant, the installation of heat pumps and the use of low-consumption light sources (LED).

Why should energy efficiency? Because waste and energy losses represent a hidden resource that energy efficiency allows us to use in economic, environmental and social. With energy efficiency weccan reduce energy costs (again, saving energy) both individually (visible savings in bills of businesses and citizens) is at a general level (national savings on utility bills and less pollution).
